Sophrology is a well structured method of deep relaxation and mustering positivity. It can be described as a kind of mental training. Just like any sport, we need to take progressive steps to make things happen. In our Sophrology, there are 6 to 8 different sessions in one level, and there are 4 levels in total. Therefore, there are about 30 sessions to become a master of your own body and mind. However, for most people, the positive effects start appearing after the first session.
It is strongly recommended to take the sessions from the lower level to the higher, especially in the group sessions. Otherwise you may find it a little difficult to follow. However, this is not the case for the individual sessions. We design your own sessions according to your needs, therefore, you do not necessarily need to go through all the steps to obtain the maximum benefit in individual sessions.
The First Level ---- The Present and Body
When we are anxious or stressed, our mind is living in the past or the future. If we can keep our mind in the present, and are able to forget about the past or future, we can be free from all types of negative thoughts such as anxiety, fear, pressure, regret, and mental stress. To do so, we focus on our body. Our body only exists in the present. Since our mind is free to fly to the past or the future, we have our body as an anchor to ground us in the present. In Level 1 of Sophrology, we experience living fully in the present and making the mind-body connection.
The Second Level ---- The Future and Five Senses
Once you finish the First Level, you are ready to take yourself to the future. In this level, we focus on our mind and 5 senses. The body has limits but the mind is unlimited. When we learn to use our 5 senses to visualise concepts as realities, our body can start to accept them as a reality. As a result, we can feel whatever we want to feel, and that can enable us to create our future instead of letting it just happen to us. We make our mind-body connection even stronger in the Second Level.
TheThird Level ---- The Past and Emotions
In this level we become aware of our emotions. We become aware of happy moments in the past and reveal the third dimension of time and space. We learn how to manage emotions and to take the emotions away from memories so that we can move forward with our energy in present time. We also discover the world around us and our ability to move physically through space and time.
The Forth Level ---- The Oneness and Values
In this level we explore oneness and values. We become aware of our values and connections to the others. While working through the fourth level we find the phronic region in ourselves. The phronic region is a three dimensional space between the mind and the body where the mind and the body meet. It gives us the space to act, instead of reacting. The phronic region incorporates the temporal three dimensions, present, future, and past within the whole (all is one) encompassing a feeling of eternity and oneness within a spatial unit.
